The senate has supported a Greens motion calling for the Government to provide data on jobactive compliance to the senate by tomorrow.
“Last Friday the Government provided piecemeal jobactive compliance data to selected media outlets, in their continuing campaign to demonise people on income support, however this data was not made publicly available via the Department’s website or on request” said Senator Siewert, Australian Greens spokesperson on Family and Community Services.
“The Government has not been updating the website and the only way we have been able to get information on the controversial jobactive program is through the committee process, estimates and questions on notice.
“This is no way to operate a transparent and democratic Government.
“Why are they withholding this information, they clearly have it given that it has been provided to handpicked media outlets, the public have a right to know.
“I look forward to seeing all of the up to date data related to the jobactive program so that it can be properly scrutinised and analysed by the community.”
