The ACTU’s commitment today to mobilise against the Government’s discriminatory Community Development Program has been welcomed by the Australian Greens.
“Just yesterday the ACTU made it clear they were taking steps to address the CDP, which is discriminatory and disproportionately hurts remote Aboriginal communities, as of today that commitment is formalised with a resolution.
“I share a commitment with the ACTU to stop the currently proposed CDP and discriminatory work for the dole regime in remote communities, these programs disproportionately hurt remote Aboriginal communities.
“We need to see true reform, the current approach is just not working. I call on the Government to abandon their discriminatory approach and work with the community on programs that are effective”.
