Keep WA GM-Free Rally
Event | Spokesperson Rachel Siewert
Tuesday 28th October 2008, 5:27pm
Thursday, 30 October 2008 - 11:45am
The Conservation Council of WA, Organic Growers Association, Network of Concerned Farmers, Organic and Biodynamic Meats, Vegetables Growers WA, Greenpeace and The Wilderness Society have joined forces to organise a KEEP WA GM FREE RALLY
We want to send a clear message to the new state government that farmers and consumers do not want Genetically Modified (GM) crops introduced in this state. We want the government to extend the moratorium on GM crops and address liability and risk management issues before introducing trials.
If you have a concern about GM we encourage you to come down and take part!
DETAILS
Assemble by 11.45am at the corner of the Esplanade and Barrack St, Perth (rally leaves 11.45am sharp). The rally will head up Barrack St to finish on the steps of Parliament House at 12.30pm where we will hear from guest speakers and present 25 000 signatures on a petition calling for an extension to the GM moratorium in WA to the Agriculture Minister
